Litchfield National Bank was organized in 1907 originally as a state bank known as the First State & Savings Bank. It continued as a state bank until September 19,1911, when it was converted to a National Banking Association. President of the bank was M.M. Morrison, who later passed the torch to T.T. Lackey, who then passed it back to M.M. Morrison who served until his death in 1928. Herb Herrick then became President followed by Charles McBride. In January 1935 Leighton Wesley Cline was elected President and served until his death in 1945 at which time William Harold Fleming was elected President. W. Harold Fleming served as president until 1974 when his son Frank Fleming was elected President and who still presides over the bank today. In 1972, a drive-in bank location was built on the former House of Sunshine property on State Street. The bank then expanded once again in 1999 by adding a branch in the Litchfield Super Wal-Mart store. Currently, Litchfield National Bank has three locations within Litchfield with ATM machines available at every location. In late 2004, Online Banking was introduced providing e-banking services to its many customers.
